Overseas Partners

Global Cultural Exchange works with agencies throughout the world, all of whom have been carefully screened.  While we do bring students in from many parts of the world, we have a particularly strong link to the students from China. Global Cultural Exchange, which is 100% American owned, is a sister company to Beijing Meiji International Education Consulting (www.watusa.cn), a Beijing-based agency that sends students to the United States on J-1 Visa Programs.

Why Chinese students?
We find that students from China have a very strong work ethic. They are proud to be representing their country and will work very hard to satisfy their employer. They are truly thankful for the job they get in America, and are happy to be earning even minimum wage.

In many cases, they are English majors and they speak excellent English. 

We have close relationships in China
Beijing Meiji Educational Consulting is owned by Michelle Wang. She started the business as a solo practice and has grown it over the last three years. She has her degree in education and has a real passion for helping University students to broaden their horizons and to improve their skills.

Beijing Meiji Educational Consulting has formed close relationships with many of the top Universities and educational organizations in China. Michelle and her staff know the importance of providing top-quality, well-adjusted students for positions in America.

They conduct careful screenings, doing their best to match students with employers. Their staff provides training to the students so that students will know what to expect when they arrive in America. Even though they can learn a lot about America from the internet or watching American television, by having staff members who have participated in the program themselves explain what it is really like to live and work in America, our students arrive well prepared.

Along with Michelle, Rich Zwiebel, President of Global Cultural Exchange, personally visits the Universities in China to establish a direct bond with the institutions and to discuss the needs of our employers. We believe that serving our employers, partners, and students at the highest level possible assures a better experience for everyone.
